Spacers and panel gaps.
If your car has front panel gap problem this is usually why. These control the cowl to bonnet gap and also your guard to front door gap. These are used in all sorts of configuration's sometimes two on one side and one on the other. These cars are quite difficult to gap so be patient with the old girls. Remember always start to gap you car from the rear quarters it is the only way it can be done correctly.
Front panel bolts
This is a front panel bolt from a 12/1972 HQ SS Sydney car. The eight that secure the top of the front apron and lock panel are in silver zinc so to are the 2 securing the fenders to the cowling. (The six inside mounting to the pillar are silver Different bolt and washer) the rest are in grey black metal finish, I have noticed all Sydney cars I have are the same.

Front bar bolts
Frame bolts
Frame bolts there are eight of these these ones are coated in gold zinc. The reinforcement plates are finished in bare metal. We have coated ours in paint grip which is a clear flat coating and will prolong rusting. The washers are glued(contact cement as per factory) to the rubbers to inshore correct alignment on assembly.
Two more of these secure the radiator support and are no different to frame bolts. They do have a nut which can be seen in photo they are square. I have seen these in gold zinc and silver zinc this Sydney built car had gold zinc.
